Ribo-Zero™ rRNA Removal Kit (Plant Leaf) Ribo-Zero™ rRNA Removal Kit (Plant Seed/Root)
The Ribo-Zero™ rRNA Removal Kit (Plant Leaf) and Ribo-Zero™ rRNA Removal Kit (Plant Seed/Root) utilize an improved hybridization-capture technology that removes virtually all the cytoplasmic (nuclear-encoded) and chloroplast ribosomal RNA (rRNA) from intact and partially degraded plant leaf, seed, and root total RNA.
Removes >99.5% of both cytoplasmic and chloroplast rRNA from intact and partially degraded plant leaf, seed, and root total RNA preparations.
Single-pass, 1-hour process yields RNA sufficiently depleted of rRNA for RNA-Seq, random-primed cDNA synthesis, and other applications.
Recovers mRNAs, as well as other non-rRNAs that lack a poly(A) tail.
Recovers both the 5´- and 3´-end fragments of mRNAs in a partially degraded RNA sample.
Table 1. Removal of plant cytoplasmic and chloroplast rRNA using the Ribo-Zero™ rRNA Removal Kit. One to five micrograms of the indicated RNA were treated using the appropriate Ribo-Zero Kit. The amount of residual rRNA in the Ribo-Zero-treated RNA was determined by random-primed reverse transcription-qPCR (qRT-PCR) using PCR primers to the small rRNAs and to multiple regions of the large rRNAs. Percent rRNA removal was calculated from rRNA-specific ΔCt values, normalized to those of the EF-1α transcript.
